SK Gaming have just defeated Mortal Team Work to win the HLTV.org Xperia PLAY prelude, and securing free entry fees to the Xperia PLAY competition later in the month.
The first map in the final would be de_train, chosen by mTw. SK managed to pick up the knife round and start on the more favoured counter-terrorist side. SK was able to secure a very shaky pistol round and began to open up a very nice lead in the following rounds. After twelve rounds mTw had only managed to win a single round. The half ended with SK in a very strong position winning the half 13-2.
In the second half, mTw were able to secure the much needed pistol if they wanted to stage a comeback. However on the third round SK decided to go for an early buy and were able to slow pick the inside bombsite and take the round. This forced mTw to force buy out the remaining half, in which SK continued with slow picks and were able to win out on de_train 16-5.
The second map would be de_nuke chosen by SK. Much like the first half, SK were able to win the knife round and start on the CT side. A nicely constructed mTw pistol round ensured that they would start this map off on the right foot. mTw went on to take the next two save rounds to build a 3-0 lead. Much like de_train, SK were able to secure the first gun round and start to build a lead, SK proved that their de_train streak was no fluke, and were able to win eleven straight rounds, thanks to their leader Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström who played an impressive CT half. mTw finally broke the streak in the last round of the half and went into the break 11-4 down.
Second map de_nuke was becoming to follow the same script as the first map, as once again mTw were able to win the pistol round, plus the following save rounds. SK managed to take the first gun round which has proved to be the catalyst for their halves and were able to win the next three consecutive rounds. mTw were quickly able to rally and break the streak but it wasn’t enough. SK managed to close out the match 16-8.

Worth noticing was that mTw played with with an ill Danny "zonic" Sørensen, who in one of the halfs had to go throw up.
After the match we caught up with Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, who had the following to say about the match:
"We went into this game pretty confident, we haven't been playing so much but sometimes it can be better to take it pretty chill and come in with new motivation and so on. We ended up winning the game, but I guess we shouldn't say that we are better then mTw, because everything is about LAN victories and not what you can make online. The tournament itself went pretty smoothly for us, except the against Moscow5 that we were forced to use a standin because RobbaN's internet was down, other then that we are glad that there is something to play online and thanks to HLTV.org for that!"
About the forthcoming Xperia PLAY, Alesund noted:
"We are now aiming for a decent place for us in Xperia PLAY that's coming up in less then 1,5 week from now. As I said before, we haven't played so much. But we will try to play as much as possible and make our fans, SK organization and other people think better about us with a better finish then in IEM. Good game to mTw and thanks for all the people watching the prelude tournament, you make our community survive! Lots of love from me and my team and cya in Copenhagen!"
